Queen Letizia of Spain Slips Into a New Royal Summer Shoe

Even royals need a vacation! Today, Queen Letizia of Spain was spotted doing some sightseeing while walking through Palma de Mallorca, Spain with her whole family in tow—including her husband, King Felipe VI of Spain, and their two teenage daughters, Crown Princess Leonor of Spain and Princess Sofia of Spain. Queen Letizia—who always has a polished sense of style, no matter the occasion—certainly did off-duty style right. She slipped into a new royal summer shoe—hint: It’s a Kate Middleton favorite, too—and she even found the perfect shorts for the season.

Queen Letizia’s version of casual footwear? It was a pair of crisp white espadrilles with jute soles. It’s a natural choice for the Spanish royal, given espadrilles originate from her country. The comfy flat is a favorite of fellow royals such as Middleton, who often favors wedge styles as well, from brands such as Castañer and LK Bennett. Queen Letizia’s striped shorts with a belted detail, meanwhile—from the brand Pimkie—struck the right balance between comfortable and put-together. She chose to dress them up by pairing them with a pocketed white button-up shirt and a Feel Mallorca Ikat tote bag.

The whole ensemble is basically what idyllic summer dressing is all about: Looking fashion-forward while wearing effortless, unfussy pieces that won’t have you sweltering in the heat. Plus, it helps that Queen Letizia has an innate ability to look impeccably dressed at all times, even when sightseeing. It’s just the royal way!
